Beauty Trend 2012
Celebrities like Mini Minaj, Jessica Biel, Drew Berrymore and Kate Bosworth have already done it. Designers Thakoon, Narciso Rodriguez and Jeremy Scott did the same at their S/S 12 presentations: we’re talking the latest beauty trend - emulsified, coloured clay powder. Models walked the catwalk wearing candy-pink, baby-blue, as well as green and lilac shade powders.
Odile Gilbert - the hairstylist at Thakoon brought the powder substance from Paris, inspired by Indian Holi Festival where revelers colour their hair in pink powder to celebrate the good over evil. To protect models’ hair Gilbert mixed clay powder with water to avoid indigestion. That alone seems to say that this beauty trend is only for the brave ones. But 2012 sounds so futuristic and exciting, why not try and experiment? Don’t worry, the good thing is that the powder can be washed out of your hair any time. Our new motto is “Be Brave. Embrace yourself”.
